The Thing About Us
Daniel Askås has played music since his early teens and enjoys playing, writing and recording music.
The career started, as many other musicians, in a cover band in the town Säffle, Sweden where Daniel played the guitar. That was followed by a couple of years as bassist in the pop band Scandal Beauty. With many gigs, recordings and performances they made themselves a name, though never reaching a record deal.
After finished studies, work took over most of the spare time, tough Daniel continued to play guitar, bass and drums, but just for fun.
Autumn 2016 saw the return to a more structured playing as a cycle of songwriting and recording at the home studio started and continued over one and a half year.
In March 2018 the debut album is released on streaming services like Spotify. The project goes under the name The Thing About Us and the album is called Through The Fire And The Rain and contains 12 songs, which 3 are written in Swedish.
The songs are written, played, recorded, produced and mixed by Daniel.
The singing on the debut album is provided by the talented Malin Sairio, Tomas Karlsson from the band The Rhymes and the gifted Patrik Otter.
Jimmy Grimberg provides drums on two tracks and Marléne Nilsson violin.
